FAQ
1) Do you use any molds or stencils in creating your artwork?
No, I create all forms on the Potter's Wheel. The unique textures and patterns are created by hand, using a variety of impressioning tools. This ensures that each piece is a unique one of kind work of art.
2) Do you have any employees?
No, I personally craft each piece of artwork to ensure the highest quality results.
3) What is the best way to clean your pottery?
I have found that the best way to clean my ceramic work is with cans of compressed air (the same type used to clean computer keyboards). Gently blow out the inside and the crevices of the texture. To remove fingerprints from smooth gunmetal surfaces, apply window cleaner to a lint free cloth and gently wipe.
4) What type of clay do you use?
I use Wade's Low White Clay from Axner Pottery Supply. I have found that this clay fires a brilliant white and is smooth with no grog.
5) To what temperature do you fire?
I fire to cone 05 electric oxidation (approx. 1900 °F.)
6) How do I display your platters?
There are generally three ways to display a platter.
1. Hang on a wall. All platters are ready to hang with a wire loop attached to the back of the piece.
2. Use a plate stand, which displays the piece upright on a flat surface.
3. Display horizontal as a conventional platter.
7) When ordering, are the pieces featured on the web the actual piece I would get?
Yes! All of my work is unique one of a kind, so as the pieces sell, I update the site with new ones .
